So I picked out my colors for Fall. I always do this for Fall because it’s my favorite season, and I can always find lots of choices in the colors I like. This season my primary colors are chocolate brown, midnight blue and some kind of a green. Recently, I’ve been reading a lot about a capsule wardrobe which is where you limit your wardrobe to 33 items including pants, tops, shoes, handbags and jackets. I don’t wear skirts. I don’t know if I can limit it that little. They say your friends won’t mind seeing you in the same outfit so much. My friends are fortunately pretty vocal, so I’m sure I’ll find out. So in celebration of the new season, I decided I needed a new necklace and earrings set. Something that will go with my Fall wardrobe and show off (a little bit) my beading skills. I saw a picture of a necklace like this on Pinterest and decided to try it. After a few mis-starts (about 2 hours of them), I figured it out, and here is the result. I think it’s not too dressy. It can extend from 16″ to 18″. When I tried it on, I decided it was the kind of necklace that you wore closer to your neckline, but 18″ is not too long. I think I’ll like it and wear it frequently to craft shows, shopping, Church, and when I’m out with my friends. In case you don’t recognize the gemstone, it’s Golden Tiger’s Eye which is one of my favorites. There is also a blue Tiger’s Eye, but I prefer the Golden. It’s a fun pattern and whips up in a few hours. If anyone wants the directions, let me know and I’ll put together instructions.

First Jewelry Collection
Beautiful Ruby Jade gemstone collection including bracelets, necklaces and earrings.
I am very excited because I have finally completed my first jewelry collection. In the past I have not been accepted into shows because I did not have a collection – but instead had a lot of unrelated pieces of jewelry. They were beautiful, but did not meet the criteria.
Now that I understand what is meant by a collection, I realize that it makes sense to make a collection. This collection is composed of Ruby Jade Gemstones and wire work. It includes necklaces, bracelets and earrings. They are in various styles and at different price points between $10.00 and $45.00. This means that if someone wants something in Ruby Jade, they have several options to choose from, and there are several price points from which to pick. Based on their need and their budget, they have several options to choose to make up their unique set.
My next step is to take pictures and post them on the website and on my blog. Hopefully, my friends will like them and forward the pictures to their friends. I would be very happy if some of them will sell from my website, and some will sell at my next craft show. I’ll update my blog here with pictures as they are available.
Gruesome, Funny, Paranormal,Romantic, and a Mystery -“You’ve Got Tail” by Renee George
I just read the first book in Renee George’s paranormal series of books about people who live in a small town in Missouri. Peculiar, Mo., is inhabited by people who are shape-shifters. They usually are people, but they shift at least once a month into an animal. Some are racoons, deer, bear, squirrels, birds, etc. Only people who are shape shifters are supposed to live here. Chav, a werewolf, returns to Peculiar from California where she lived with her friend, a psychic, Ambrosia Sunshine. Only shape-shifters are supposed to live in Peculiar. However, after a short time in Peculiar, Chav sends a message to her friend, Ambrosia Sunshine, a pyschic, asking Ambrosia to come and help her search for her older brother who disappeared mysteriously and suddenly. Only shape-shifters are allowed to live in Peculiar, and Ambrosia, who does not know about shape-shifters, feels very unwelcome. The rest of the story is the search for Chav’s brother along with other people who have mysteriously disappeared over the years. The ending is somewhat gruesome and totally fitting with the story and the shape-shifters. If you want a fun read and are willing to suspend belief for a while, I recommend it highly. I’m on to the second book in the series – “Thank you for not shifting”.
Finally, I’m back to doing!
New black Onyx Bracelet
I’ve finally returned to making jewelry. I’ve been neglecting this for a few weeks while I’ve been working on my house. I really miss doing the jewelry, and after a while, when I don’t do it, I get down. It is a great love, and I would do it even if I did not sell it. This is a fun bracelet to make and looks good on my wrist. It molds to fit the wrist, so it stays in place. There is no clasp.
So now all I have to do is get my web site updated with some new things.
Thanks for any comments .
Back in Action
So, I’ve decided to really try to try to set up my website for sales as well as to show off the jewelry I make. I joined a group called ’30 sales in 30 days.’. Today is the first day and my task for today is to decide on 3 actions I will take towards this goal.
The first and second actions are easy to decide:. First I am going to add something new to my website every day. A lot of the items on the website are sold, and I usually only make one of a kind items. Second I am going to update this blog with what I added and I am going to ask my followers here and on Facebook if they would share the item with their followers. When I add an item to my website, it automatically is added to my Facebook page.
Not all updates will be about jewelry. I still like to cook and show pictures of my grandchildren.
A little self-promotion here:. My shop is
